5 Tips for Managing Endo Belly

August 19, 2020 by Curtis Leave a Comment

Endometriosis is no joke. The pain itself can be extremely difficult to manage. It’s a constant presence in your body and can create challenges in your intimate life. Even worse, it can be difficult to be taken seriously by doctors due to a lack of attention to women’s health. Doctors can be hesitant to relieve you of endo by performing a hysterectomy, because you’re within childbearing age. It can feel like there are a lot of variables out of your control. You have every right to be frustrated. Here’s what you can do to help you manage the pain/inflammation and make you feel like you have a little more control in your life.

Soothe yourself with CBD.

CBD is a craze that has swept the nation. It’s seen such a movement that it might just be worth a try, if you haven’t already. CBD is different from marijuana. It’s made from the hemp plant, and although it’s a cousin of the marijuana plant, you won’t experience any of the psychoactive effects that marijuana can produce. That being said, CBD is thought to have other physical and psychological benefits. CBD may help reduce inflammation and relieve the pain associated with that inflammation, which is perfect for endo belly. It’s also thought to help reduce stress and anxiety, which may be appealing because dealing with a chronic illness is like doing mental gymnastics every day.

If you’re interested, there are a few different ways to take CBD. You can take it orally through a liquid, apply it in a lotion, or smoke it in cigarette form. For the best CBD cigarettes, check out Plain Jane. Plain Jane is an expert in all things CBD. It can be difficult to parse through information and misinformation related to CBD, so get it straight for an expert source.

Plan ahead for your laparoscopy.

A laparoscopy can be such a blessing because it removes some of the painful, problematic tissue. After the procedure, you’ll have incisions that may still bleed slightly. Your regular underwear might not cut it when it comes to comfort post-surgery. Regular elastic waistbands may push on uncomfortable, tender spots. You need a set of women’s panties that will serve you well during this time and beyond.

Soma incorporates comfort and cuteness into all of their collections. Although fun to wear, all of their intimates also have a touch of practicality. Ask your doctor beforehand where the incisions will be made and pick a brief, hipster, or bikini that will hug the bandages without putting too much pressure on the surgery site. You’ll want to wear Soma’s underwear rain or shine, endo flare-up or not.

Take a hike.

Getting some light exercise, like walking, can be great for endo belly relief. Obviously, you don’t want to take a strenuous hike, but enjoying some light exercise and fresh air can be great for your body and mind. Find a short trail that you can drive to and go at your own pace. Listen to your body if you need to slow down or rest.

Stay hydrated.

Drinking water is important for all of your bodily functions anyway. It may also help you with your endo tummy. If you’re having a particularly hard day, zest it up with some lemon, basil, and mint. Since endometriosis isn’t fun, drinking water should be.

Shop for a new doctor.

If nothing seems to be relieving your endo tummy and you feel like your doctor isn’t taking your treatment seriously, it might be time to go for another consultation. A heating pad and a relaxing bath can only get you so far. Make sure you’re seeing a specialist for your endo if your general practitioner isn’t listening.
