If you’re going to be painting a room in your home soon, you probably want to get the project done as quickly as possible while also having a great finished product. Luckily, both of these objectives can be accomplished if you know what you’re doing.
To help you see how this can be done, here are three tips to make painting a room much easier to do.
Get The Right Supplies and Equipment
Before you start doing any painting, you’re going to want to make sure that you have the right supplies on-hand to get the job done.
While you might be wanting to get the room painted as cheaply as possible, when doing interior painting, it’s actually going to be worth your while to get the highest quality items that you can comfortably afford. If you choose to purchase cheaper items like paint brushes and paint, you could wind up having to put in a lot more effort to get a final product that you actually like and are proud of. Additionally, you could have to spend a lot more time and frustration on these projects as well. And if you end up buying more expensive items after you get tired of using the cheaper items, then you’ve now wasted money as well.
Prep The Room Correctly
Once you’ve gotten all of the items that you’ll need for painting your room, you’ll then want to prep the space correctly.
To do this, you’ll want to remove everything you can so that you don’t have to worry about moving around it or having it get in the way and get paint on it. Along with this, you’ll want to make sure that you use a putty knife to help seal your tape on the edges of the walls and moldings so that no paint is able to run underneath it, which defeats the purpose of putting the tape on anyway. By doing this prep the right way, the actual painting process will be much easier.
Use Your Roller First
In the past, people may have been told that they should cut in the edges of the walls they’re painting first so that this tedious work gets done and out of the way. But, if you’re wanting to make painting a room look and feel easier, it’s actually best to use your roller first and then finish with the edges.
When you use your roller first, you’ll feel like you’re making real progress in painting the room because you’ll be able to see how much surface you’ve been able to cover. Then, cutting in the edges will feel just like finishing work. But if you use the energy you have at the beginning of painting to do the most tedious work, you might run out of steam before you really need it to get the bulk of the painting done.
If you want to make painting a room easier for you, consider using the tips mentioned above to help you in doing this.
